The Board Members of the Migration and Diaspora Foundation attended the 23rd Doha Forum, held this year under the theme "Establishing Justice: From Promises to Concrete Reality." Opened by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on December 6 in the Qatari capital Doha, the forum stood out as one of the most important gatherings in the field of global diplomacy, with more than 6,000 participants and 471 speakers from 160 countries.
In line with its approach of "Diplomacy, Dialogue, and Diversity," the forum aimed to bring together government representatives, academics, think tanks, and civil society organizations to discuss concrete solution proposals for global peace and cooperation. Sessions on Yemen, Gaza, Syria, and regional conflict areas drew the keen interest of the international community.
Throughout the forum, our foundation's delegation met with diplomatic representatives, academics, think tanks, and civil society representatives to assess opportunities for cooperation.
In this context, we had the opportunity to meet with many figures, foremost among them Dr. M. Mustafa Göksu (Türkiye's Ambassador to Qatar), Hakan Fidan (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Dr. Nuh Yılmaz (Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs), Badr Abdelatty (Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs), Mohammad Javad Zarif (former Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs), Bilal Türkiye (Syria's Ambassador to Qatar), Rabbi Mendy Chitrik (President of the Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States), Mustafa Barghouti (Palestinian politician, physician, member of parliament, and 2005 candidate for the Palestinian presidency), and Wadah Khanfar (President of the Al Sharq Forum and former Director General of the Al Jazeera Media Network).
In addition, productive consultations were held with numerous international NGO and association representatives from different countries, and assessments were made regarding areas of joint work.
As the Migration and Diaspora Foundation, we continue to take an active role in international platforms where solution-focused work toward building global peace is carried out.
In the period ahead, our foundation will continue with determination to take part in initiatives that contribute to diplomacy, dialogue, and peace.
