The "Yemen Council" round-table meeting, which we organized as the Migration and Diaspora Foundation in cooperation with the Mokha Center, was held with broad participation at the foundation's headquarters. At the meeting, which brought together the Yemen and Türkiye tables, the academic, humanitarian, and institutional cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional developments, were addressed in a multidimensional manner.
While assessments were made at the meeting on the topics of Yemen's current situation, diaspora work, humanitarian aid coordination, education, and institutional capacity building, joint projects and opportunities for sustainable cooperation were put on the table. Participants drew attention to the importance of strengthening Türkiye–Yemen relations in the dimensions of civil society, academia, and public diplomacy.
Among the participants at the Yemen table were Najib Ghanem, former Minister of Health, member of parliament, and chair of the Türkiye friendship group in the Yemeni parliament; Moohialdin Mohammed, President of the Association of Yemeni Students; Fuad Saeed, Management and Institutional Development Specialist; historian-author Yassin Al-Tamimi; former Minister of Education Abdulrazzaq Al-Ashwal; and Mokha Center President Atiq Jarallah.
The participants at the Türkiye table were AK Party Deputy Head of Foreign Relations Emir Yasin Kekeç; YTB Yemen Coordinator Abdülmecit Torun; TİKA Yemen Coordinator Buğra Aydın; ORSAM Yemen Coordinator Hüseyin Bahri Kurt; İRAM President Serhan Afacan; ANFİDAP Term Spokesperson and Advisor to the YTB President İsmail Mansur Özdemir; Sadakataşı Ankara Branch President Murat Kaya; HÜDA PAR Head of Foreign Relations Hüseyin İmir; and İHH Board Member M. Enes Arıkan.
We state that new meetings will continue in order to expand the ground for information sharing and joint work between Yemen and Türkiye, and we thank all the stakeholders who contributed and participated.
