At the seminar organized by GDV and the Mokha Strategic Research Center, Türkiye's local government experiences were discussed. The event presented examples that could contribute to the development of local governments and public services in Yemen.

The "Administration and Service Experiences of Turkish Municipalities" Panel Was Held Successfully

The seminar titled "The Administration and Service Experiences of Turkish Municipalities," organized in cooperation with the Migration and Diaspora Foundation and the Mokha Strategic Research Center, was successfully completed.

At the event, Türkiye's local government experiences were addressed around the axis of legislative processes, the delivery of municipal services, governance models, resource management, and mechanisms of social participation.

The seminar took place with the participation of the Migration and Diaspora Foundation's Chairman of the Board Recep Seyyar, Ümraniye Deputy Mayor Mesut Özdemir, political researcher Rıdvan Elkhattabi, and journalist Yusra Abdullah.

📌 Highlighted topics:

  • The constitutional and legal framework of local governments, municipal structures, and electoral mechanisms,

  • The role of bureaucratic processes and resource distribution in the delivery of municipal services,

  • Crisis management, preparedness for climate disasters, and adaptation to technological developments,

  • Transparency in governance, accountability, the auditing of financial resources, and citizen participation,

  • The sustainable implementation of social, cultural, and community projects by municipalities.

The seminar, shedding light on one of the most important administrative experiences in the region, also emphasized how these experiences could be drawn upon in developing local governments and public services in Yemen.

The Migration and Diaspora Foundation and the Mokha Strategic Research Center thank all the esteemed guests who attended the event and the speakers who contributed.
