The Migration and Diaspora Foundation Hosted the Iraqi Delegation

As the Migration and Diaspora Foundation, we were greatly pleased to host the Iraqi delegation at our headquarters. The following names took part in the delegation:

  1. Ammar Ali – Press Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq
  2. Jemal Bilal – Office Specialist to the Prime Minister of Iraq
  3. Ahmed Al-Jimeyli – Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq
  4. Ahmed Jamal – Prime Ministry Representative for Nineveh Province

Together with the delegation, we made visits to important institutions of our country and found the opportunity to share information and evaluate areas of joint work. The institutions visited and their representatives are as follows:

  • Ministry of Family and Social Services: A meeting with Deputy Minister Mrs. Leman Yenigün and the accompanying delegation.
  • TİKA: An exchange of ideas with the Head of the Foreign Relations and Partnerships Department, Uğur Tanyeli, and the accompanying delegation.
  • Directorate of Communications: A meeting was held with the Head of the Strategic Communication and Crisis Management Department of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, Mr. Bora Bayraktar, and the accompanying delegation.
  • Yunus Emre Institute: A meeting with the Institute's President, Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Aliy, and the accompanying delegation.
  • İHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation: A meeting with Board Member Mr. Hüseyin Oruç.
  • Maarif Foundation of Türkiye: A meeting with President Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün and the accompanying delegation.
  • AK Party Siirt Member of Parliament: A meeting with Mr. Yasin Aktay.
  • Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities: A meeting with Deputy President Mr. Kazancı and the accompanying delegation.

In addition, AK Party Şanlıurfa Member of Parliament Mr. Abdulkadir Emin Önen visited our Foundation and held a meeting in person with the Iraqi delegation. Following the meetings held at our Foundation headquarters, we found the opportunity to introduce the richness of our city by also taking our delegation to historical and cultural sites.

The meetings held with the Iraqi delegation were extremely constructive. Information was exchanged on the details of the work with the institutions visited. As a result of these meetings:

  • Mutual accumulation of knowledge and transfer of experience were achieved.
  • A consensus was reached on developing fields of activity that could be carried out jointly.
  • It was planned to produce joint projects to further strengthen the relations between Türkiye and Iraq.

As a result of the meetings, both sides' desire for relations to be strengthened and for new fields of work to be created was confirmed once again.

While hosting the Iraqi delegation, we organized various visits in order to introduce the historical and cultural richness of our city. These visits enabled our guests to gain a deeper understanding of our country.

As the Migration and Diaspora Foundation, we are proud to have contributed to the strengthening of relations between Türkiye and Iraq. We thank everyone who contributed to the realization of this meaningful visit and the institutions that hosted us.
