On the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, our Head of Women's Diaspora Communications, Ayşe Müzeyyen Taşçı, issued a press statement on the human rights violations taking place in East Turkestan at a program organized in cooperation with the Migration and Diaspora Foundation, Nuzugum, ETHR, and UDTSB. The Chinese occupation of East Turkestan, ongoing since 1949, imposes severe oppression on the Uyghur people and targets the family structure, particularly through women. Under the name of "concentration camps," millions of Uyghurs are forcibly detained, subjected to assimilation policies, and forced to live in inhumane conditions. Today, we have come together to give voice to the silent cry of the women of East Turkestan and to express once again that we stand with them.
