Since the beginning of the Syrian civil war, Türkiye has hosted millions of Syrians. In this report, the demographic characteristics (age, gender, education, employment status) of Syrian migrants under temporary protection status and the post-war return processes are examined with up-to-date data.

As of 2024, the education enrollment rate of Syrians in Türkiye has increased, but difficulties in integration continue because of language barriers and social cohesion problems. While participation in education is higher in the younger age groups, this rate is low among adults. The number of migrants in working life and the rates of participation in education are presented supported with visuals.

In the report, it is recommended that, for those who prefer to remain in Türkiye, language courses, vocational training programs, and employment opportunities be increased. For those who return to their countries or plan to return, it is emphasized that safe, voluntary, and dignified return processes should be supported through international cooperation.

The report aims to be a guide for academics, journalists, and policymakers in order to develop the education policies of migrants who both remain in Türkiye and return to Syria, and to reduce information pollution.
