Aleppo, which has held strategic importance since the beginning of the Syrian Civil War, has in recent years been the scene of intense clashes between regime forces and opposition groups. In recent days, the advance made by the opposition in some areas has reshaped the balances of power in the region.

We assessed the latest developments in Syria, and especially the operations in Aleppo, with Hadi al-Bahra, President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (SOC). We agreed that the operations in Aleppo have major effects not only militarily but also humanitarianly and politically, and that the greatest expectation of the people in the region is peace and security.
