As the Migration and Diaspora Foundation, through the high-level meetings we held and the protocols we signed as part of our contacts in Iraq, we continue to strengthen the academic, institutional, and social cooperation between the two countries. Below, the important highlights of our visits to Iraq are presented for the public's information.
Meeting with the Iraqi National Security Advisor, Mr. Qasim Al-Araji
Meeting with the Iraqi National Security Advisor, Mr. Qasim Al-Araji, we carried out a comprehensive assessment of our work in Iraq. The meeting addressed:
the strengthening of Türkiye–Iraq relations,
joint steps toward supporting regional peace and stability,
the Terror-Free Türkiye Process,
the situation of the Al-Hol Camp in Syria,
the processes for the safe and dignified return of Syrians in Türkiye and Iraq
were addressed. In line with Mr. Al-Araji's assessments, new perspectives that would increase regional cooperation were emphasized. Our foundation continues its work to strengthen peace, security, and sustainable stability in the region.
Visit to the Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Anıl Bora İnan
In the meeting held with our Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Anıl Bora İnan, a comprehensive assessment of our contacts in Iraq was made; Türkiye's regional peace and stability policies and the areas of cooperation between the two countries were addressed. We thank our Ambassador for his kind hospitality and support.
Joint Work Protocol with Iraq's Sadr University College
The joint work protocol signed between our foundation and Iraq's Sadr University College aims to strengthen the academic, cultural, and social relations between the two countries.
the establishment of a Turkish Language Education Department within Iraq's Sadr University College,
the development of joint department and academic program cooperation with universities in Türkiye
were thoroughly evaluated. We believe that this cooperation will make valuable contributions to relations between the two countries.
Institutional Cooperation with the Nehreyn Research Center
In the meeting held with the Nehreyn Research Center of the Iraqi National Security Advisory Office, the scope of the cooperation protocol between the two institutions was evaluated, and the intention for joint work was strengthened at the institutional level.
Protocol with the Beyan Center for Strategic Studies
We hope that the joint work protocol signed between our foundation and the Beyan Center for Strategic Studies will make meaningful contributions to academic and strategic cooperation between Türkiye and Iraq. We thank all the institutional representatives who supported the process.
Academic Cooperation with Iraq's Al-Mansour University College
Within the scope of the joint work protocol signed with Iraq's Al-Mansour University College, a full (100%) scholarship quota has been allocated for 5 Turkish students for the coming year.
In addition, the meeting addressed:
the establishment of a Turkish Language Education Department within the Al-Mansour University College,
the development of joint department and academic program cooperation with universities in Türkiye
were thoroughly evaluated. We believe that these steps will make important contributions to strengthening the academic and cultural relations between the two countries.
